Keeping your trousers clean and properly stored is key to maintaining their sharp look, comfortable fit, and lasting quality. Our easy trouser care guide will help you take great care of your favorite pairs.
Cleaning
For small stains, spot clean with detergent and let it sit for a few minutes before washing. For more stubborn stains, it’s best to leave them to a professional dry cleaner.
Always start by checking the label. This small tag gives you all the dos and don’ts of caring for your specific trouser fabric. For machine-washable trousers, sort them by color, turn them inside-out for added fabric protection, and use a mild, fragrance-free detergent. Most of our trousers are made from natural fibers, so avoid fabric softeners, and, when possible, wash on a gentle cycle to minimize wear on the seams, pockets, and hems.
Drying
After washing, gently smooth out seams and pockets to maintain their structure. Never wring your trousers as it can damage the fabric. To preserve the shape and fit of your trousers, it’s ideal to allow them to air dry them by lying flat or hanging them by the waistband. Please refer to the label to know whether a specific pair can be tumble dried.
Ironing
Iron your trousers while they are still slightly damp to get crisp, wrinkle-free results, and use the appropriate heat setting for the fabric. Delicate fabrics such as silk should be ironed at low heat, while heavier materials like cotton, wool and denim can handle higher temperatures. Always iron trousers inside-out to avoid any shine on the fabric, and take extra care around pleats and creases to keep them sharp.
